Call for tutorials

 

Information:

Tutorials have formative goal and can be either short (3 hours) or long ones (6 hours).

A tutorial will be cancelled if it has less than 6 registered attendees, or if the tutorial speaker does not provide the slides to the organization before the deadline for tutorial materials submission. A copy of the slides will be provided by the organization to all the attendees of the tutorial. The organization will also have the possibility of selling extra copies of the slides to conference participants who are not able to attend the tutorial but may be interested in the talk.

 

Benefits:

The abstract of each tutorial will be included in the proceedings of QUATIC'2004.

All tutorial speakers will be offered a complimentary free participation in QUATIC'2004 in the day of the tutorial, including lunch.

Tutorial speakers will receive an aditional financial compensation on account of their effort in preparing the tutorial materials, proportional to the number of registered attendees on the tutorial, beyond the minimum possible number of registered attendees.

 

Requirements:

A tutorial proposal includes an abstract of 200 to 300 words and should be accompanied by the following information:

  • Tutorial title
  • Author(s) name(s)
  • Author(s) contacts - postal address, electronic address, phone and fax
  • Conference subjects related to the tutorial
  • Keywords (maximum 6)
  • Short Curricum Vitæ (100 to 200 words for each author)

The selected authors will receive a "tutorial speaker kit", including suggestions for the production of slides that will be distributed to all tutorial participants and other informations.

The QUATIC'2004 organization will provide copies of the slides of the tutorials to all tutorial participants.

 

Notes:

The organization will provide a personal computer with powerpoint, as well as projection equipment (datashow). Any further informatic equipment needed for the presentation should be brought by the speaker.

The QUATIC organization may refuse a talk if its subject is out of the scope of this conference.
