TU7 - TUTORIAL

Title: The Capability Road Map - Managing Quality and Improving Process Capability

Abstract: This tutorial explains how to establish a Capability Road Map as a framework for software/IT quality management and process improvement. The key step is defining a Process Model for your existing processes, based on the ISO12207 Software Life Cycle standard. This supports performance of quality management to ISO9001 requirements, allows you to assess the capability of your processes using either the ISO15504/SPICE or CMM models and then identify opportunities for process improvement.

The tutorial explains what a process model comprises, how to relate it your internal processes, practices and external standards and requirements, and how to adapt it to specific project and team needs. Examples are included.

Schedule: Wednesday, 14.30 / 18.00
